Over the last 30 years Brad Fraunfelter has been a professional retoucher, and image manipulation artist in the Los Angeles area.
Shortly after getting out of college in the late 70s I began a career as a Photo-Retoucher. I had trained at a fine arts college in upstate NY, where I specialized in Visual Arts, including Painting and Photography.
When I started as a Retoucher, computer technology for retouching did not exist, and we retouched prints using a fine-tipped brush, and the airbrush.
I found that my skill as an artist helped me to master retouching very rapidly. To this day I still use my illustration skills in retouching photographs, and I use my retouching skills when working on realistic illustrations. Both of these fields help immeasurably with doing detail-oriented work!
